Shack Pictures 2008
Not much has changed, really, but people ask....

(New camera, so they should look a bit better.  8MP vs 5MP last year....)

Weather station and Monitor 4 which scrolls through the webcams and other stuff

The dusty work area.  Monitor 3 with weather maps, weather station output.  Monitor 2 with UI-View showing APRS data.  Radios are FT857d (purposely placed on CB Channel 17 frequency, yes, it ONLY RECIEVES, I don't modify my radios, 10-4?) FT8800 (2m/440)  FT-2800M/Kantronics KPC-3 (Packet, Packet Node STCK) and Pro2055 Radio Shack Scanner.    Co-Operator "Little Bit" poked his nose into this shot.  13.34V on the battery monitor (batteries hidden under all of this for Emergency Power, see "Emergency Power" page, 2 of those batteries is my current emergency system, the other smaller ones stopped working, but the bigger ones are still going strong).

The dusty "Main console" for the computers.  Hey, what do you know, this website is on the screen.  Arm swings away for storage when computer is not in use.  Custom carpentry by myself, you can see the high quality, NOT!   But like you see on every dented, trashed car "Don't laugh, its paid for and it runs!"

Packet Antenna in the foreground, 2m/6m Loops to the right, further right is the 2m/440 Jpole.  Pecan tree w/o leaves is the backdrop.  The pole WAY in the back between the packet antenna and the loops is where my G5RV is attached, the last major storm caused it to lose one leg, so its a longwire now.  I only use it for recieve on the 857d anyway, don't have HF access anyway.  Hear a lot on it, including power line noise at S-5...

Weather Station.  5 plastic flower pots and drip pan with fan inside to make thermometer more accurate by shading it and moving air through it is C1997 KD6NIG.  Please don't try and duplicate, that was a professional job, dangit!  Solar panel powers the fan.  Hummingbird feeder adds to the custom look.

Weather Station wind sensor..

Closer look at loop antennas (top 2M/bottom 6m)  Have worked Denver, CO w/5W on 6M SSB with the larger loop.  Behind it is the 2m Jpole for the dual band radio.  Cable wire that feeds high speed internet access in foreground.
